MISSION BEACH
 Cassowary Coast
Tropical North Queensland

July 6-10 2025

Adventure Racing World Series and Tri Adventure are thrilled to announce The Amazons Australia.

The first ever ARWS all-female adventure race.

The event will be located on the Cassowary Coast, Tropical North Queensland, Australia 6-10 July 2025.

“We already know women are tough.
But now it’s time to show the world just what tough can do.”

Adventure Racing is one of the most extreme sports in the world. Athletes race unsupported across the wilderness for multiple days. Adventure Racing is traditionally a team sport, made up of two, three of four members. The ARWS Rankings only ever recognised mixed teams, until now!

The Amazons Australia will see all-female teams of two embark on a 3-day extreme adventure, combining trekking, navigation, mountain biking, paddling and mystery challenges to test their skills and resilience in the heart of Australia's rugged and brutal tropics. As this is a stage event, teams will race by day, then rest, relax and recover by night.

They will battle mother nature’s dense rainforests, crocodile-inhabited rivers, unpredictable weather, fatigue, mental and physical challenges in a bid to be crowned Amazon Warriors.

Designed to bring elite adventure racers, athletes from other disciplines, adventurers, friends and mothers together on the same humbling playing field, The Amazons Australia promises to transcend boundaries and create life-changing bonds.

The ARWS and Tri Adventure are on a mission to:

•    create a monumental, life-changing, and long-standing event, that allures more women every year
•    encourage women to push past their boundaries and test their limits
•    encourage a new demographic to try adventure-racing
•    raise the profile of women in adventure racing
•    show the world that women are TOUGH
•    make sure the historical journey and evolution of the race is well-documented
•    use the powers of social media to promote fitness health and sustainability

We are beyond excited to see this event evolve and capture the hearts, imaginations, and minds of women across the world.
